Derived from this archive's verified English and Chinese subtitle tracks
This multi-date archive places early VORTEX interviews, workshop discussion, and collective rehearsal side by side. Participants explain why they came to Beijing and entered performance, discuss coercion and the work's partner-rebirth premise, and demonstrate a process in which everyone proposes, tests, and sequences material together.

VORTEX — FIRST INTERVIEWS & EARLY DEVELOPMENT
This multi-date archival access edit brings together 11 recovered camera segments recorded from 15 December 2021 through 3 March 2022. Presented in capture order, the material documents read-through and rehearsal fragments, a lighting test, workshop discussion, three participant interviews, and group rehearsal. It is not one continuous interview.
ARCHIVAL EDIT
The 11 selected segments are joined in capture order. One 00:40 failed setup take (source identifier MJIX), recorded immediately before the third interview, is omitted from this public-access edit; its verified source remains preserved unchanged. No speech or scene has been reordered. This YouTube access copy is presented at 1080p.
