He Fa, also written Fa He (Chinese: 何发), is a Chinese cross-media artist, theatre and moving-image creator, educator, and founder-curator of P4 Theater. Trained in photography at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and in fine arts at California College of the Arts, he began from photography and installation before developing long-term projects that combine theatre, film, public art, rehearsal, writing, and participatory situations. Since 2015, he has worked through P4 Theater in non-standard spaces including former factories, offices, bookstores, boxing gyms, and temporary sites, treating performance as a live relation among actors, audience, cameras, text, and space.
His projects include P4 Theater, Purple Action, Iceberg, Love Drama, and Human Surrender / Shoot Self with You. He is known on IMDb for Shoot Self with You (2024), a film and performance project connected to Human Surrender in which rehearsal, documentary image, and second-person spectatorship are brought into the same field.
